    Description

This sale is for a quantity of one four inch 1980s Rockwell International CPU. These are 6500 series microcontrollers on an uncut silicon wafer as pictured. Comes with shipping case shown. Rockwell built many different styles of these throughout the 1980s.
Four inch vintage wafers in good condition are hard to find these days. These are really in exceptional shape and look like they came straight from the cleanroom. These large feature chips would be great for a classroom microscope.
Rockwell was not only the prime contractor for the Space Shuttle, but also the B1-B bomber, Apollo Command/Service modules, and other space/defense related projects. Rockwell is also highly notable in the silicon fabrication realm for the development of MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition).
