    Description

This disk is ideal for use with machines that have only a single 800K floppy drive, and no internal or external hard drive. It contains the 6.0.8 System Folder, as well as Disk First Aid and TeachText applications. It will boot the Macintosh 512Ke (but not the 512K), Plus, SE, SE/30 & Classic (but not the Classic II).
If you have a machine with an additional internal/external floppy drive, or an internal/external hard drive, you should purchase the complete set of System 6.0.8 install disks instead - which you can find in my other listings.
This operating system is one of many pieces of older software that Apple previously released to the public as a free download. However, many collectors have trouble getting this software onto media that can be used by their vintage Mac, due to differences in file systems & physical connectivity that exist between these machines and modern computers. I offer these disks as a solution to that problem.
Please be advised that while this software can be obtained by the public free of charge, it is still the intellectual property of Apple Computer, Inc, and I claim no rights to it. What you are purchasing in this listing is only the disks themselves, and my service of transferring the software onto those disks.
This 800k disk is formatted and written using a real vintage Mac, and is guaranteed to work properly
as long as your machine's floppy drive is in good repair (see last paragraph)
. Don't take a chance with untested decades-old disks, or similar ones offered by others who create them using emulation software and non-Apple drives.
Please note that these disks are recycled, and the color of the one you receive may vary. All will be appropriately and attractively labeled like what is pictured.
Cleaning & re-greasing of your floppy drive's eject mechanism, cleaning of the read/write head, and replacement of the eject motor gear is strongly recommended before attempting to use these disks. (A dirty head or seized eject mechanism can both destroy a disk, and if a disk gets stuck, the process of attempting to remove it may result in irreparable head misalignment)
