20th Anniversary Mac Computer

Created in celebration of Apple’s 20th anniversary, the Twentieth Anniversary Mac (TAM), was designed to showcase Apple’s out-of-the-box thinking and create a buzz. Notably, TAM is the first high-visibility product created by Apple’s in house design master Jonathon Ives – a project he seems to have been allowed to run with. TAM’s media capability was off-the-charts for its day with a coaxial cable input so you can watch TV; S-Video and composite video input; FM radio system; high quality CD player; built in microphone; a remote control that runs everything. Topping this off is an incredible sub-woofer/main speaker sound system custom designed by Bose.
Extremely low production numbers reflect its being a pricey special edition computer. There were only 12,000 TAMs manufactured. On the market from March 1997 to March 1998, its initial price was around ,500. This leveled off at around ,500 for most of the year it was on the market.
This TAM is in very, very good cosmetic and operating condition having for the last 20+ years been on display in a personal collection of modern design icons. There are two very light scratches on the sub-woofer and minor abrasion to the leather palm-rests on the keyboard. The plastic cover over the input ports in the back is slightly loose fitting.

• “Fat-back” auxiliary back cover needed if certain accessories are installed
