Description
For sale is an awesome garage sale find here in Merrill Iowa, only 25 minutes away from the old Gateway country. This is a Gateway 2000 Destination computer system manufactured 3 days before the turn of the century! Model BATC TB2 XTV-450. This powerhouse is powered by a blazing Pentium 2 processor(sticker on the case says Pentium 3, but System Config says 2, not sure what the deal is there), a whopping 128mg of Ram, plenty of storage space with the massive 12.7gb hard drive, running the ever reliable Windows 98. We had a blast testing out this rig and got everything to work EXCEPT the wireless remote/mouse. Not sure why it would not go, it makes a beep when you press in the reset button, but will just not respond. However, I did have an old Gateway wired white mouse that works perfect which is included also, plus the original wireless keyboard is working which has a little mouse pad on it. It is also missing the remote for the sound system which is a bit of a bummer, but you can adjust it with the sound control on the desktop volume control in windows. Its set at half volume on the main Center channel speaker, so you cant go any louder then half way. But it is an awesome vintage Boston Acoustics Digital Theater 6000 5.1 Surround sound system that sounds awesome even at only half volume or less. The original Gateway DL36 monitor is picture perfect, zero burn, MONSTER 200 pound 36" CRT, fully working. We tested everything we could, I could not test the networking because it does not even have an Ethernet card lol, and I do not even have a regular phone line, but I imagine the modem should work if you want to go old school dial up internet. I also could not test the 3.5 disk drive as I dont have any of those either. We did pull up some programs, games, played DVDs and CDs in the DVD rom drive and all worked well. Comes with all the original software, everything is in great physical condition too with no major dents or dings, keyboard could be cleaned up a bit. I would like to keep this all together since it has been for over 20 years now, so hopefully I can find a local buyer for it because I obviously WILL NOT ship this monitor, LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. Please do not ask, I will not ship the monitor no matter how much you want me to:) However if this does not sell to someone locally who can come pick it up from my shop within a few months or so, I will part it out and ship everything except the monitor, so save me as a seller. Hopefully this will go to a local collector who can appreciate this monsters beauty! Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking!
